Cogio inc. is a Quebec consulting firm in sovereign artificial intelligence. We design custom AI agents that work on a company’s own documents, inside its own walls, in French, and in compliance with Law 25.
What we are, and what we are not
We are practitioners: our job is to deploy systems that work on Monday morning, not to produce slide decks. We are not a licence reseller, not a marketing agency, not a cloud vendor. We never sell the Montreal regions of the American giants as “sovereignty,” and when an off-the-shelf subscription is the right choice for a client, we tell them so, as our comparison Local AI or ChatGPT Enterprise makes plain.
What we believe
Sovereignty is an architecture, not a slogan
The agents we deploy run on the client’s infrastructure or with a Canadian-owned host in Quebec. Where a server sits is not enough on its own: what counts is the jurisdiction of whoever owns it.
AI prepares, people decide
No agent we deliver sends, signs or controls a critical process without human sign-off. That is a design rule, not an option.
Numbers are quoted with their sources
When a figure comes from a study, we name the study and its limits. When it comes from an engagement, it describes that engagement, not a promise. Our gains are measured at the client’s site, before and after.
The client keeps everything
Open models, configurations, indexed data, documentation: the deliverables belong to the client, with a reversibility clause on every contract and no per-seat royalty.
How we work
Every engagement moves in short waves, with a decision point at each milestone: continue, correct or stop. The baseline is measured before deployment, the privacy impact assessment is done during scoping, and the funding is worked out before the scope is settled.

The team
Cogio was founded by two engineers. One ran industrial plants for more than 40 years, the other designs and deploys AI agents. We also want to be judged on our published methods and our documented engagements: everything we claim on this site is verifiable, sourced, or flagged as a benchmark still to be confirmed. You meet the team on the discovery call itself, and our security practices are set out in the trust centre.
